15 Quotes To Inspire And Motivate You

I honestly believe at many points in our lives we all need some extra motivation and inspiration in our lives to encourage us to continue living the best life we can. Personally, I find motivational quotes to be so inspiring when I am lacking motivation to keep on moving forwards,

Here are a few motivational quotes I find useful when I am struggling to see where my priorities should lie:

Big thinking precedes great achievement; It’s all about planning how you reach your goals. Simply put having a goal in mind does not achieve success. A goal without a plan is just a wish and daydreams alone seldom produce results. Don’t fail to make a plan and to review this plan regualrily and make any adjustments that are required.

Failures are finger posts on the way to achievement; Let’s be honest here, nobody will go through life with everything going their way 100% of the time. There are so many factor that can effect our lives, some with in our control and others that are totally out of control. Don’t ever blame yourself for things not going to plan instead learn from the situation and move on.

If the track is tough and the hill is rough, thinking you can just isn’t enough; Life is tough and nothing truly falls into anybody’s lap. Behind everybody’s success is because of a ton of hard work, sweat and tears and usually a few detours along the way. Just because something is not straightforward don’t give up. If you put the work and the time in you can achieve far more than you imagine.

The achievement of your goal is assured the moment you commit yourself to it; As I said in the quote above, things don’t just fall in to peoples laps but the minute you make the decison to take up the cahallenge to reach your goals the possibility of achieveing the goal has begun.

Goals in writing are dreams with deadlines; There is often way too much whizzing around my head but I find writing down things and then planning what I need to do to be very beneficial in me actually achieving what I want to do. I guess I will always be the make a list person and will always be on paper. I don’t think I will ever get used to electronic plans. Writing down my plans has always been more successful for me as it enables me to work out a structure plan and also allows me to brain dump. If I don’t brain dump I never seem to move fprward towards my goals.

Without a goal you can’t score; To me this is more about setting SMART goals. SMART goals must be:

  • specific
  • measurable
  • achievable
  • relevant
  • time-based

Basically if you goals does not have the 5 elements of a SMART goal how will you ever know that you have achieved your goal? Often we don’t break life goals how in to SMART elements and instead just say ‘I want to be happy’. But what does ‘happy’ look to us? Everybody’s ‘happy’ will look different and if you don’t know what your ‘happy’ looks like, you will never be able to say you have reached your goal.

Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it; Self-belief is very important. Self-belief can simply be defined as having confidence in your own skin, confidence in your abilities and confidence in your decisions. Self-belief is such an important quality to have, as without the ability to believe in your own worth and actions you may struggle to reach your full potential and live a less fulfilling life. We are all so much stronger than we will ever know and have the ability to achieve so much if only we just take those first steps however tentative they may be.

Work in silence. Let success make the noise; I am certainly one of those people who keeps their dreams to themselves. I may give a certain insight into what I’m planning but I have never felt comfortable shouting about my dreams. I know I shouldn’t but I often feel like people will laugh and say you’ll never do that; this is entirely thanks to people in my past who always ‘stamped’ on my dreams and aspirations and filled my head with negative thoughts that I just wasn’t good enough. I’ve removed these negative people from my life and now, instead of totally giving up on my dreams as I have in the past, I quietly sit down and work towards them. As long as yu are working towards your dreams it really doesn’t matter whether you tell the world what you are doing or not as long as you are not letting others influence what you do.

Will it be easy? Hell no! Worth it? Absolutely; Nothing in life is easy and things just don’t fall in to our laps. Hard work is key but when you achieve your dreams it will all have been worthwhile.

Have goals so big, you feel uncomfortable telling them to small minded people; Why aim for something small? In life, you will always encounter those you think you aren’t capable of anything. Don’t let their negative attitudes win. Aim high and prove them wrong!

If you don’t build your dream, someone else will hire you to build theirs; This is so true. Unless you take actions to reach your goals you’ll find yourself helping others achieve theirs. Sometimes we just need that little push from ‘life’ in order for us to realise what we really want out of life and what we need to do to achieve it. Simply, don’t let fear make you settle for second best.

Don’t talk, just act. Don’t say, just show. Don’t promise, just prove; There comes a time when you just have to stop talking and thinking about your dreams and just get on with them. Nothing will happen until you take action to reach those goals.

Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you’ll land among the stars; Just got for it! As long as you are aiming for something, even if you don’t achieve it, you’ll still be somewhere better than where you started.

The past cannot be changed. The future is in your power; What has gone on it the past has happened and no matter how much we wish we could turn the clock back we can’t. But what we can do is decide to make peace with the past and move on. It’s not always easy but to continue dwelling over things that have happened will only have a negative impact on ourselves and our wellbeing.

If you want your goals you must shrink the size of your but; Basically this is saying, stop making excuses. Until you actually take action you never know what you can achieve.
